Classmate Critique

Classmate Critique

Hello there, I commented on two of my peers which included, Amaya Beauvoir and Marcus Cheeatow.

Amaya's shots included a "two shot" and a "close up". All her shots were recorded with amazing effort and I could see the work that she put in to them. Now, with the "two shot" I felt a sense of connection between the subjects as it allowed me to pick up on the interaction between them. I could see the intimate relations they both had, that could further contribute to a story line. To add on, the close up allowed me to feel calm as it focused on a center piece, in this case, a plant. In this shot I could see all the details and evoked a sense of empathy. It could have also evoked a sense of tension since the camera is so close up. Overall, her shots were nicely done!

Furthermore, Marcus's videos included, "two shot" and a "low angle shot". The "two shot" evoked feelings of intimacy between both subjects, creating a visual connection that allowed viewers to sense the emotional bond they shared. This framing emphasized their relationship dynamics, inviting the audience to feel invested in their interactions. This technique not only enhanced the storytelling but also helped to establish a more personal connection, drawing viewers into the narrative. Plus, the low angle shot helped to evoke dominance, as the subjects looked heroic or in power. By placing the camera at this certain angle it makes the characters appear larger than usual. Viewers like me could feel the strength of the subject, as it adds more to the story. Thus, Marcus's shots were extremely well done!
